No matter who wears Captain America Suit, the image of Steve Rogers as Team America has been forever ingrained in people’s minds. Recently, Steve Rogers’ super serum failed and he couldn’t carry the shield anymore, so someone had to take over the mantle of Captain America. Perhaps it is sad for Steve Rogers fans to see someone else take up the iconic shield, but this is not the first time we have seen someone else replace the absent Rogers as Captain America.
Now let me introduce three characters who have worn the Captain America costume. After understanding the history of these, I believe you can also find the right Cosplaylab Cosplay Costumes.
- Isaiah Bradley
The horror of the Tuskegee experiment can be reflected in a story about the end of the U.S. Army’s experiments on the super soldier serum on 300 black soldiers in a terrible project called: Rebirth.
Among these people was a man named Isaiah Bradley. It was an extraordinary time, and Bradley had experienced violence and racism in the military. The seven men who survived were deported to war in 1942. During World War II, Bradley was captured and sentenced to life in prison for stealing a spare uniform from the U.S. Army.
After 17 years of solitary confinement, Bradley was pardoned and discovered the conspiracy that left him sterile. However, Bradley’s legend lives on in the underworld of the Marvel Universe.
Bradley died in the company of his wife and great-grandchildren, one of whom was a Patriot, a member of the Young Avengers.
- William Nasland: Spirit of 76′
William Nashland was the first person to replace Steve Rogers as Captain America. When Steve and Barnes were missing in action, President Truman asked William Nashland, the spirit of Generation 76 and a member of the Crusaders, to take up the mantle of Captain America for the rest of the war. William Nashland fought alongside the All Victory team for two years before being killed by one of Adam II’s men.
- Jeffery Mace: Patriot
In the original script, Geoffrey Mays never became Captain America. However, in the 2010 miniseries “Captain America: The Patriot” traces some history and tells the story of Mace taking up the legacy of Nayland after his death. Mace was a friend of the original Captain America, and after being unable to save Nayland, he put on Captain America Suit. Mace had no superpowers, but he wanted to take over the legacy, so Mace was left at PSA in New York.
He eventually retired from the military, and in later years he died of cancer in the company of Steve Rogers.
Today we introduced three characters related to Captain America, they are very respectable heroes. In the road of resistance to injustice, they used to wear Captain America Suit to represent justice.
