National Council of Education Research And Training was founded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 1961 to serve and guide the central and state government on policies and programmes for qualitative advancement in school education.
The NCERT includes the members of the Union Minister of Education as the president, all the education ministers in the state and union territories having legislatures and the chief executive councillor, Delhi, the UGC chairman, councillor secretary, ministry of education.
Importance Of NCERT
NCERT was formed by merging seven government education institutions. It was established to standardise the education system in India. The main objective of NCERT is to publish high-quality books, and they can be implemented in the entire country to standardise the education system and the books read by the students across the country. NCERT operated with CBSE to design the books which were first implemented by CBSE.
